YOU CAN BE GOOD
Those of you who know me personally know my love for Steinbeck. Since reading Of Mice And Men in 8th grade, his novels remain as some of the most influential pieces of art that have shaped my character. At the core of who we are, we want to be known; we want to know we matter. Steinbeck's insight to this very subject, and humanity at it's most bare, is rich and true and unashamedly honest.
This quote summarizes his thoughts, and mine, on the way I want to live my life. Grace is good, and when it grants me the freedom to be good, I will gladly take it.
If you haven't read East of Eden or The Grapes of Wrath, I highly suggest you add it to your list. ;)
